SMS is a source of stories about real Filipino families na nag reunite sa Canada and their journeys para makahanap ng meaning, purpose saka family connection

Pssst! I’m Frankie. Wag mo sabihin kay mommy because I dont want her to worry, but between you and me, Im so happy for some ideas about how to do better in Canada.

Meet my mom, Karina, 43.

“I thought things would be dramatically better once I’ve settled in Canada and that my kids can see the difference. I think it might not have worked.”

Or baka gusto nyo po e guess yung top three values ng Filipino parents? Material success po ba or family connection?

Meet my sister, Marcella, 17.

“Canada’s been good for us, but I think my mom had her eyes so stuck on great that she kind of forgot about my dreams. I’ve learned over the years to focus on helping myself and make my own way in life.”

What do teens and parents say po na pinaka appealing na career maliban sa healthcare?

And that’s me!
I’m Frankie, 15.

“Philippines is where you do the things you want. Canada is where you do the things you should.”

Anong country po mas masasasabi ng Filipino teens na mas masaya? Philippines or Canada?

Ang SMS ay hinde lang nagsi share ng typical, average stories na makikita or maririnig mo everyday and it doesn’t  tell you how you should feel. Super helpful sya for families that are adjusting sa bagong buhay together in Canada.
